About Vincent Massey Child Care Centre

Philosophy:

Vincent Massey Child Care Centre is a community based organization committed to providing high quality Child Care that is affordable, accessible and well-managed. We are located in Vincent Massey Public School.

Established in 1985. Vincent Massey Child Care Centre has earned a solid reputation as an excellent Child Care provider in the Lakeshore Community. The Ministry of Children and Youth Services, under the Day Nurseries Act, Licence all of our programs. Provincial government standards have been established in order to ensure that all programs provide a safe. healthy and stimulating environment with quality care for the children we serve.

Our Objectives are to: provide a warm, safe and caring environment further develop a child's potential creative, intellectual, social and physical skills offer a safe environment that is a natural progression from home to school ensure that children are supervised at all times by caring, qualified staff hire staff that are experienced and well trained provide the best care and enrichment for your child provide a communication system that is constant and consistent between parents and staff.

Children:

Our goal is to provide a safe, warm and nurturing environment in which children can grow and reach their maximum potential. We feel that by fostering each child's self-esteem and self confidence through positive experiences and stimulating activities that we will promote the overall development of each child's emotional, physical, social and intellectual growth. Every child is given the opportunity to develop their personal ideas and develop their own unique creativity. A healthy, well-adjusted child is motivated from within by a natural curiosity and love for knowledge. Our goal is to cultivate this natural desire to learn.

Parents:

We believe that parents are the most important caregiver in their child's life and it is our goal that parents are treated with respect and given the opportunity for input and involvement on a regular basis.

Staff:

Vincent Massey is committed to hiring highly motivated, qualified, experienced, caring staff who nurture your child in a safe, friendly, stimulating environment. The diversity of our staff reflects the diversity within the Lakeshore Community. Each staff member has a unique teaching style and a wide variety of life experiences that are incorporated into our programs. All of our trained teachers have their Early Child Education Diplomas and we encourage all staff to attend professional conferences, workshops and seminars. This contributes to both the staff members' development and the enrichment of our centre. All staff has CPR and First Aid Certificates updated annually.

Community:

Vincent Massey is committed to working in partnership with the School Boards, other agencies in the area, as well as municipal, provincial, and federal governments to provide the best possible child care delivery to families in the Lakeshore Community.
